I've been writing daily (at last!) and looking for different ways to challenge myself. The monologue is always a nice way to experiment with refining technique and structure.

How to make soap revised_Amlanjyoti Gosw

Amlanjyoti Goswami - how to make Soap

'How to make soap' is art, necessity and invention. It blends aesthetics and utility, like the old Japanese masters. It is head, heart and hand.

Quarantine Collective submission.jpg

Judit Hollos - Death In Quarantine

My piece is a combination of monologue and haibun, a Japanese genre at the intersection of poetry and short prose, as well as it is a tribute to Bergman's wonderful, iconic 1957 film, „The Seventh Seal”.

Things I have to face.jpg

Rebecca Rae - Things I Have To Face

Things I have to face - Inspired by advice to prevent contracting COVID19, the piece explores the many ways in which I regularly touch my face - for vanity, sanity and comfort - and how isolation has me questioning whether I truly want to be alone.

A poetical depiction of the current dialectical ramble that occurs on the hour every hour between 'the submissive citizen of reality' and 'the self proclaimed revolutionary of the potential truth'.

Some days may feel like mud days, but if you try

you might see stars in the strangest places.

This song is essentially an ode to stillness. There is a subtle irony in how we find calm in chaotic times.

Martha Patterson - Sleep instead of zooming

The COVID-19 quarantine hasn't affected me terribly as I'm something of a recluse and am house-bound anyway, but I know it does affect many and they have my sympathies!
